Testimony of
Minister Angela Waters
|
|
For everyone who said it
couldn’t be done or think they can’t get an education this is for you. I
am 48 years old and the grandmother of fourteen and disabled. The childhood part
of my life was horrific, from mental and physical abuse such as beaten till I was purple or molested by family and
their friends till I was married to being discriminated against at school and kicked out in the seventh grade and told not
to return. The road has not been easy.
I was a teenage mother at 13. I was using drugs and had two children by
the time I was 15. I was married and had 3 children by age 17 and selling drugs. School was not in my plans at all, neither was a relationship with God. I believed there was a God and I read Revelations when I was young, but to know we had any power was beyond
my thinking. I was bulimic for 8 years and did not have a clue there was a problem
with my eating or lifestyle habit.

Today I am a licensed Minister of the Gospel,
I work with the after school program at the church I attend. I work with a women
group called Women In Action and we fight racial discrimination and injustice, and I work with the women in prison. I praise God for where he has brought me from and where he is taking me too.
I graduated in December from Washburn
University in Topeka, Kansas
with a Bachelors Degree in Public Administration, and was honored with a Who’s Who among America’s Universities and Colleges.
I give all the praise to God for making a way and empowering me to do all I am doing.
I want to encourage everyone who thinks they are too old or not smart enough, or lack finances to step out on faith
and watch God move.
Respectfully,
Angela M. Waters
